Shortly after moving to Stockton (in 1993) I participated in the Annual Art Tour. I showed my art with several members of the Stockton Art League - a sculptor named George Ladd and a painter named Ann Anderson in what used to be the banquet hall for the Bull N Bear restaurant and now is the Midtown Creperie. I will always have fond memories of that experience.
What places bring back memories for you?

University Neighborhood Stories Welcome
I am working on a book about the University Neighborhood area of Stockton, CA. This area is bounded by Pershing, California, Harding and the Calaveras River and includes UOP, the Miracle Mile and St. Joseph's Hospital.
Recently the UNRC Storefront History Project which interviewed area residents and displayed historic photos and student art to the public collected a number of stories relating to the area. A total of thirty locations were chosen but there are many more that were not selected.
If you have a memory about the area - buildings, businesses, activities, way of life etc. please feel free to share them on this blog. Stories will be made into a book for the 90th anniversary of the Miracle Mile to be celebrated in October of this year.
